Prerequisites:

  • User with Global Administrator role on Google Workspaces

  • User with Admin role on GUIDEcx

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Create a Custom SAML App on Google Workspaces Admin Portal

  1. Login to Admin Portal:

  2. Navigate to Add Custom SAML App:

    • Navigate to Apps -> Web and mobile apps -> Add app -> Add Custom SAML app.

  3. Configure Basic App Details:

    • A new window will open. Enter the app name as "GUIDEcx" and add a GUIDEcx logo. Then, click on Continue.

  4. Save SSO Configuration Values:

    • On the next page, click on the copy icon to save the following values for later use in GUIDEcx settings:

      • SSO URL

      • Entity ID

      • Certificate

    • Ensure not to modify any characters in these fields. These values can be copied anytime from this window.

  5. Enter Required Values:

    • Enter the following values in the respective fields:

      • ACS URL: https://api.guidecx.com/users/auth/saml/callback

      • ENTITY ID: https://app.guidecx.com

      • START URL: https://app.guidecx.com/auth/login/sso

    • Check the box for Signed Response and select Name ID Format to EMAIL.

  6. Map User Attributes:

    • In this step, map the attributes that Google needs to provide to GUIDEcx about the user. Only firstName and lastName are needed.

    • Click on the Add attribute button twice and select the Google Directory attributes and app attributes as shown in the screenshot below.

  7. Enable the App:

    • The app is now created but not yet enabled for any user. In this guide, we will enable the app for all users in the account. You can make adjustments and enable it for an organizational unit as needed.
