Overview
The new Plan View was created with two purposes in mind:
Improve performance - The legacy plan view and task drawer are two areas that see high traffic and being performant is critical to a good user experience.
Reduce clicks - We want the most common activities in GUIDEcx to be as easy as possible and reducing clicks helps that become a reality.
Plan View v2 incorporates much of the functionality you have come to know and love, while addressing some of the needs that have emerged over the years. Reach out to your CSM if you're interested in joining our closed beta for Plan View v2.
Basics
Plan view continues to utilize four layers of units/structure including Phases (Templates), Milestones, Tasks, and Subtasks. The combination of tasks/subtasks replaces Task Groups.
Visibility settings so that tasks can remain visible or hidden to customers.
Board view and List view are both supported and now have parity in functionality and performance.
Drag & Drop
New Functionality
Background Navigation - When you open the task drawer to view the details of the task, the background Plan View remains active and you can navigate to other tasks without having to close the drawer and reopen it.
Breadcrumb Task Navigation - Within the Task Drawer you can use the breadcrumb trail at the top of the drawer to navigate and drill in and out of subtasks.
New Text Editor - Gone are the days of having your task instructions limited to a small viewing window. Our new text editor allows you to type your content and the window is responsive.
Autosave - You will notice there is no “Save” button in the Task Drawer and that is because everything is now autosave.
Cross Template (Phase) Dependencies - Now there is a native experience within the Plan View where you can have a task in one Template (Phase) be dependent on another task that is in a separate phase. Prior to this enhancement this could only be accomplished through Recipe Builder.
