Learn about different types of tasks - Regular, Participant, or Event Task to fit the needs of your onboarding experience!

Overview

Tailoring tasks as per requirements helps customize the flow of your project. Teammates can easily distinguish between tasks that are individual to-dos or group activities and tasks that depict events.


User Access

  • Admins and Managers can create and edit all types of tasks in Projects and Templates.

  • Guides can create and edit all types of tasks in the Projects they are added to. Guides can view Task Type details in Templates.

  • Task Owners can create Regular Tasks and edit them in projects they are added to.


How to set up Task Type

To set a task type,

  1. Click on "Add Task" at the bottom of the milestone you'd like to add a task to.

  2. When creating a task, find the “Task Type” field at the beginning of the task creation process.

  3. Select whichever task type you’d like in the drop-down bar.

Best Practices

  • Analyze your process of Customer Onboarding to identify regular touch points with the customers and create Event Tasks wherever necessary in the templates

  • Participant Tasks work best wherever more than one user will contribute towards the completion of the task. A good example would be "Watch this training video"

  • Event Tasks are great for scheduling meetings such as a "Kickoff Call"

  • Regular tasks are the most popular and are used for tasks like "Set Up Customer Account"


FAQs

Can the Task Type be changed after creating the task?

Admins and Managers can edit Task Types in projects and templates. Guides can edit Task Type in projects they are added to.
