User Access: Admin can access and manage functions within the Resource Management feature. Managers and Guides who are also Project Managers can add and edit functions if an admin has enabled the permission. Internal contributors will not be able to see the "Resource Management" option on the left-hand side menu of GUIDEcx. Internal Contributors can assign and unassign themselves and other internal contributors to any task where a "function is needed" and they have the corresponding function assigned to them within their associated projects.

Users in GUIDEcx can be assigned a function, or even multiple functions if necessary. Functions can be used as a filter in several places in the application.

Functions are used as a filter for resources inside of the task drawer in template or in an active project. The function(s) you select will allow for the associated resources to be shown as options when assigning the task.

Functions can also be used as a filter in the Tasks tab to identify specific tasks:

Best Practices:

  • Make sure all your resources have been assigned their appropriate functions in order to make assignments. Read our Help Article on Assigning Functions in order to do so.

  • Use filters to quickly find the right resource to accomplish a task(s) and make assignments at the template and project level.

  • If a task is typically assigned to the same function/responsible party, assign them at the template level to save time upon Project Creation.
