Overview

The updated project table has a new look and feel, but all of the same great functionality you use on a daily basis. Changes to the project table were made to make the application faster and more performant, and to lay the foundation for additional project table customizations in the future!

What's New?

Horizontal Scroll

We've introduced a horizontal scroll with a sticky project name column. This allows for easier reading and navigation of the project table.

Infinite Scroll

We have removed pagination and have introduced infinite scroll on the main project table page. No need to tab between pages to see all your project info!

Add/Remove/Reorder Columns

You can now customize your individual project table view. Add, remove, or reorder columns. Learn more here.

Project Creation Flow

While the process to create a new project is still 4 steps, data is now organized in a more thoughtful way. Project creation takes place in the background, so when creating a new project with a large template, you now have the flexibility to navigate within the application and add team members.

  1. Details

Name your project, assign a project manager, set billing preferences, and populate your custom fields.

  2. Templates

Select the template(s) you want to use and adjust experience overview elements.

  3. Timeline

The timeline step is very similar to the legacy experience. We recommend toggling on “Show Forecasted End Date” as this will automatically update project end date based on project velocity and help project managers make adjustments to hit a desired completion date.

  4. Customer

The customer step is the same as the legacy workflow. Set the project type and select the customer. It is critical that you select the proper customer so that you can have accurate reporting and leverage the tools associated with our Customer Dashboard.

While the project is populating, you'll be automatically directed to add team members.

Column: Notes

This is a new column that when clicked opens the project in a new tab and navigates to the “Notes” tab within the project. This feature saves two clicks for the user because you no longer have to “right click” to open the project in a new tab and click on the “Notes” tab. Our hope is to enhance this feature even more in the future, but we wanted to give you the MVP version to use as you see fit until those enhancements are made.

Adjust Column Width:

One of the most requested enhancements we have had with our project table is the ability to adjust the width of the columns. This request has existed for a few years even when we had our legacy table. It is a request we continued to hear when we launched the Projects table and we are happy to announce that we have enhanced the new table and adjustable widths are now a reality.

FAQs

Are the column headers customizable?

Not at this time, however this new format allows us to make that dream a reality down the road!!! Stay tuned!

Can I customize the project layout?

YES! You can drag and drop the column headers + show/hide certain headers. Learn more on that here.
