How to assign a customer to a project

Easily connect the right customer to the right project so everyone stays aligned from day one. By assigning a customer and inviting their contacts, you give them a clear seat at the table - building trust, encouraging engagement, and helping both sides work better together.

  1. Navigate to the project

  2. Click "No customer selected"

  3. Type in the Customer's Company name

  4. Click "+ Create" or select the existing customer name if they're already saved

  5. Now you go navigate to the "Team" and invite customer contacts!

How to invite customers to their project

Inviting customers to their project gives them a clear role and a direct way to collaborate with your team. Setting up customer roles first makes it easy to add their contacts, keep responsibilities organized, and ensure communication happens in the right place.

Before inviting customer contacts to a project, you'll need to ensure that there are customer roles created. The steps below include those steps on how to create Customer Roles.

  1. Navigate to Resource Management

  2. Click "Customer Roles"

  3. Click "+ Add Customer Role"

  4. Type in your "Customer Roles" PS they'll autosave!

  5. Now you can add those Customer Roles under the Customer Team!

  6. Navigate to the project's team tab

  7. Click "+ Add Role" under the Customer's team

  8. Enter the customer's information

  9. Click "Add Role to Project"

  10. Repeat those steps until you've built out the customer's team!

How to migrate a template from GUIDE 1.0 to 2.0

By design your 1.0 templates won't appear in 2.0. You'll need to migrate them - here's how to do that!

  1. Navigate to your Templates in GUIDE 1.0

  2. Click "Try 2.0"

  3. Click "Migrate Templates"

  4. Select the checkbox of each template you'd like to migrate.

  5. Click "Migrate"

  6. Click "Start Migration"

  7. After a few minutes (depending on size of your template) it should be ready to be used to spin up new GUIDE 2.0 projects!

How to make a "Phase" template from a "Project" template.

If you migrated a template from GUIDE 1.0, you'll need to convert it to be a "Phase" template in order to add it to projects! By default - migrated templates will appear as "Project" templates so you can create projects with them. However if you'd like to add additional templates to projects, then you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Click into the Project Template that you'd like to convert

  2. Select "Convert to template"

  3. Navigate to a project and click on this button "+"

  4. Your newly created "Phase" template is now available to be added to projects!
