Understanding the History Tab
The History tab is a powerful audit tool that allows internal teams to track every change made within a project.
History tab provides a centralized, chronological log of all activities, such as:
When a task was updated,
Who changed a project’s status, or
The delivery status of a project email
By housing this information directly within the project, teams no longer need to rely on external deliverability reports, making project tracking more efficient and transparent.
Who Can Access the History Tab?
Internal Users: Have full visibility of the History tab to monitor project progress and changes.
Customer Users: This tab is hidden from customer views, even if they have "Full Plan" access. This ensures internal logs remain private.
How to Use the History Tab: Step-by-Step
1. Accessing History
Navigate to your specific project and look at the sub-navigation tab (below the project title).
Click on the History tab located between Attachments and Custom Fields.
2. Viewing the Activity Log
Once inside, you will see a table of all logged actions.
Item Count: The number next to the "History" header indicates the total number of logged rows/actions for that project.
Table Columns: The log includes the Owner (the person who took the action), the Action (e.g., Updated, Sent, Created), the Entity (the specific task or email), and the Details of the change.
3. Filtering by Owner
If you want to see the contributions or changes made by a specific team member:
Click + Add Filter and select Owner.
Choose a user from the list. The table will update to show only actions taken by that individual.
4. Filtering by Action (Including Email Status)
This is particularly useful for tracking communications.
Click + Add Filter and select Action.
You can filter by:
Task Actions: Created, Updated, Deleted.
Email Deliverability: Email Sent, Email Delivered, Email Opened, Email Bounced, etc.
5. Filtering by Entity
If you want to isolate changes made to a specific type of project element:
Click + Add Filter and select Entity.
Choose from Milestones, Tasks, Subtasks, Team Members, or Emails.
6. Filtering by Date
To find changes made during a specific timeframe:
Click + Add Filter and select Date.
Choose a preset range (e.g., Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days) or set a Custom Range.
7. Combining Filters
For advanced searching, you can apply multiple filters simultaneously. For example, you can filter for Action: Email Opened AND Date: Last 7 Days to see which clients interacted with your project updates this week.
⚠️ Important Note - History updates every 30 minutes! ⚠️
